About Lygature

Lygature is an established not-for-profit organization that drives medical innovations to address unmet medical needs worldwide. Current challenges in health care require collaboration across disciplines and stakeholder groups, such as industry, academia, health foundations and patients. The Lygature foundation provides partnership management for public-private partnerships that develop innovations in the medical space. As an independent third-party Lygature is a proud contributor to the success of many different multilateral collaborations, including the Health Innovation Netherlands, Oncode Institute, Pediatric Praziquantel Consortium, Regulatory Science Network Netherlands and UNITE4TB.

Project Communications Manager (36-40 hours per week)

About this role

As a starting professional, you will play an important role in a large array of communication tasks within several projects and initiatives at Lygature. Together with a senior communication colleague and Program Managers, you will develop strategic communication plans and implement them. With your background in the life sciences & health and interest in communication, you can translate a communication strategy into clear actions to secure attention and create engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Produce written communication content like press releases, news items and social media posts
  • Establish good working relations with all project partners involved
  • Increase stakeholder engagement within projects and for Lygature itself
  • Develop communication plans for large public-private partnerships, together with a senior communication colleague
  • Create communication tools with tailored content, both online and offline, together with our in-house communication specialists (design and digital communications)
  • Continue to improve the quality of the communication support we provide
  • Contribute to the shared expertise of the Lygature communications team

Requirements

  • You have a Master of Science in a biomedical or life science discipline or a Master Science Communication
  • Preferably at least one year of relevant experience in science journalism, communication agency experience, strategy consulting, corporate communications or media relations
  • You are a communication professional: self-starter, hands-on and versatile
  • You can work well independently but are also a keen team player.
  • You have experience or affinity with research & innovation in the life sciences
  • You have proven project management skills
  • You are fluent in English and can communicate at B1 level in Dutch to get by in organizational meetings
