The Taskforce HPV-kankervrij.nl aims for an HPV vaccination coverage of >90%, cervical cancer screening participation of >70%, and better treatments of all HPV-related cancers. Together with medical professionals, patients, and foundations, we will develop tools and dissemination events to help first-line healthcare providers in providing their patients with relevant information about HPV-related cancers, and to educate them about the importance of vaccination and screening.

About HPV-kankervrij.nl
The Human Papilloma Virus causes cervical cancer, as well as cancers of the anus, mouth, penis, vagina, and labia. Every year, HPV infections result in 600 deaths in The Netherlands, most of which are preventable with vaccination and prompt treatment.
In The Netherlands, HPV vaccination coverage for girls born in 2005 is only 63%, although that figure has grown by 10% in the past year. Also, only 50% of women are screened for cervical cancer.
The Taskforce HPV-kankervrij.nl aims to have The Netherlands meet the WHO target of 90% vaccination and 70% participation in screening. Medical professionals play an important role in achieving these goals and are therefore the main target of our campaign. We want to provide them with tools and information to enable them to educate their patients about HPV-related diseases and their prevention by means of vaccination and screening in the best possible way. How great would it be if we could make HPV cancers rare in the Netherlands – and in the world?

Lygature in HPV-kankervrij.nl
Lygature will develop a visual identity for the project, followed by a website, quarterly newsletter, social media accounts, slide deck, media monitoring tools, and a digital project platform to be able to efficiently work together.
Once in place, Lygature will develop a communication strategy in close collaboration with the Taskforce partners and healthcare professionals. The main challenge will be to optimize the use of available funds, time, and manpower to contribute most efficiently to the Taskforce’s goals.
