Collaborating to Advance Nature-Inspired Antibiotic Discovery

News News

In February, Lygature participated in a series of events co-organized by the Scientific Community for Discovery of Future Medicines (C4D) aimed at establishing networks for discovering new antibiotics. Lygature’s Strategic Director Jon de Vlieger attended the events and moderated a strategic session that explored the future activities needed to fill the antibiotics drug discovery pipeline with novel nature-inspired products.

C4D is a global, non-profit initiative working to discover chemical entities from nature for future medicines. For the recent C4D gatherings, key stakeholders from academia and industry met to advance collaboration and explore funding strategies.

Commenting on the discussions, Jon said: “The strategic session was a fantastic start to a week focused on nature-inspired drug discovery and its potential to diversify the early-stage pipeline for new antibiotics. Lygature is excited to join forces with this group of top scientists and key players worldwide that aim to shape the future of antibiotics discovery.”
