Lygature – up and running, on the move
Building on their parallel research paths – one in molecular diagnostics and imaging and the other in drug development – CTMM and TI Pharma worked closely together from the very beginning. The reason is simple. Delivering precision personalized medicine requires pharmaceuticals, molecular diagnostics and diagnostic imaging to converge. The most often cited example is companion diagnostics, enabling the safe and effective use of the right drug in the right patient at the right time.
Inspired by this goal, CTMM and TI Pharma decided to take their collaboration to the next level when their respective programs came to completion, by merging together into one organization. On January 1, 2016, that merger became a reality and Lygature was born. We are already growing fast, so now is the time to complete the integration by bringing the entire team together under one roof. In June 2016, Lygature opened a new office in Utrecht and closed down its existing offices in Eindhoven and Leiden.
The new office is located in the Beatrix building of the Jaarbeurs, immediately adjacent to Utrecht Central Station, putting us within easy reach of our Dutch partners as well as our international visitors – the train journey from Schiphol Airport to Utrecht CS only takes 30 minutes.
In collaboration with the Jaarbeurs organization, the plan is to make the Beatrix building a centrally located innovation hub by bringing in many more organizations from the life sciences, health and ICT sectors. We will be in good company. Other innovation hubs are already located in the Beatrix building, including the Dutch Game Garden, opening up exciting new opportunities for the cross-fertilization of ideas.
Lygature’s new Utrecht office will be officially opened on November 15, 2016, and we would be very happy to see you at the event, so please put the date in your diary. In addition to celebrating with us, it will be an opportunity for you to learn about our plans for the future and the ways in which we facilitate highly effective translational medical research.
