Lygature’s Jorg Janssen highlights the power of collaboration in Leaders in Life Sciences podcast
Lygature Managing Director Jorg Janssen recently joined the Leaders in Life Sciences podcast, hosted by Henk Jan Out, to discuss the evolving role of collaboration in advancing healthcare innovation.
In the episode, which is in Dutch, Jorg reflects on how public–private partnerships in life sciences have developed into broader multi-stakeholder collaborations involving academia, industry, governments and societal organizations. He notes that addressing today’s complex health challenges increasingly requires partners to combine expertise, resources and perspectives.
Over the years, Lygature has played a key role in shaping such collaborations. The organization has contributed to the development of several major initiatives within the Dutch life sciences ecosystem, including Oncode Institute, Oncode Accelerator, Health-RI, and PharmaNL. Lygature also played a leading role in establishing HI-FIVE, a shared office environment in Utrecht that brings together several national health innovation organizations to foster collaboration and synergy across the ecosystem. Beyond the Netherlands, Lygature continues to work closely with partners across Europe, contributing to a wide range of collaborative projects.
The podcast also highlights Lygature’s work in Global Health. Jorg discusses the Lygature-coordinated Pediatric Praziquantel Consortium, which has successfully developed and made available a new treatment for schistosomiasis in preschool-aged children. He explains how partnerships like these are built, and where Lygature adds value: by combining scientific, strategic and partnership expertise to help complex initiatives move from concept to impact.
Reflecting on Lygature’s role, Jorg notes that the organization often works behind the scenes to bring partners together. At the same time, he underlines that Lygature’s strength lies in the expertise it has built over two decades in guiding complex initiatives through scientific, governance and partnership dynamics to achieve real-world impact.
