Lygature’s Pediatric Praziquantel Consortium awarded renewed funding of €7.8 million
The Pediatric Praziquantel Consortium has received renewed funding from the Global Health Innovative Technology (GHIT) Fund and the European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) for the implementation of its access program, ADOPT.
Through its ADOPT Program, the Consortium will prepare for the large-scale delivery of a new child-friendly medication to treat schistosomiasis in preschool-aged children.
The project has progressed to Phase III, with a pivotal trial being run in Kenya and Ivory Coast to generate confirmatory data for registration. Entering the final phase of the project, the Consortium aims to identify approaches to ensure widespread acceptance and equitable access to its pediatric treatment across endemic countries, once registered.
