Olenka van Ardenne appointed as member of Supervisory Board of CumuluZ
Earlier this week, Olenka van Ardenne, Senior Partnership Leader at Lygature, was appointed as a member of the Supervisory Board of CumuluZ – Dutch initiative dedicated to improving data availability in healthcare.
Today, health information is fragmented across numerous systems, making it difficult for care providers to access a complete and up-to-date view of a patient’s health. This fragmentation costs time and resources, and can increase the risk of medical errors.
Challenges such as rising healthcare costs, workforce shortages, aging population, fragmented information systems, and inefficiencies/redundancies in care are pushing stakeholders to find scalable digital solutions.
About CumuluZ
CumuluZ is a Dutch health data initiative founded to improve data availability in healthcare. By developing a sector-wide data infrastructure, CumuluZ ensures that the right information is available to the right person, at the right time. Its mission is to improve healthcare through smart, future-proof solutions that make health data accessible.
Importantly, CumuluZ may contribute to the implementation of the European Health Data Space (EHDS) Act. In the Netherlands, CumuluZ is part of a national movement toward data-driven innovation in healthcare, aligning with government priorities for digital transformation and sustainable healthcare financing. The drive is to move from mere data exchange (i.e. sharing data) to data availability (making it usable, standardized, timely) across settings.

Olenka’s role and expertise
The supervisory board oversees the management of CumuluZ, focusing on its objectives and results and working closely with the managing director. The Board is formed by a chairman and two members with different background and expertise within the domains of healthcare, financial and legal, IT transformation, privacy and financial aspects as well as data protection.
Olenka’s role in the Supervisory Board entails sharing knowledge and providing support with the different areas of healthcare, research, legal, ethical and data privacy issues. She is also contributing her expertise on data governance and management which she has built throughout her involvement in Lygature’s international projects and national assignments.
Added value for Lygature
Olenka’s role at CumuluZ will also strengthen her work within Lygature. By engaging directly in the development of national health data infrastructures, she brings valuable insights on governance, data stewardship, and digital transformation back into our projects. Her position expands Lygature’s network in the field of digital health and reinforces our role as a trusted partner in initiatives where responsible data use is essential to advancing innovation and improving patient outcomes.
“Over the years, I have been able to contribute passionately in various roles to what the Netherlands, ranking high on international healthcare lists, has to offer: an excellent, accessible and innovative healthcare system for everyone. Data accessibility is crucial for patient safety, affordability, efficiency and achieving what all healthcare providers strive for: the best care we must and can offer. This depends entirely on a good data infrastructure for primary and secondary use and sharing data. This why CumuluZ mission is so essential. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this mission in my role.”
