Patients and researchers find strength in each other during World Cancer Day
Every year on February 4th, the whole world focuses on the impact of cancer during World Cancer Day. Cancer affects everyone. Patients, ex-patients and their families are confronted daily with the consequences of this disease. It also affects the lives of cancer researchers in a different way: they work tirelessly every day to find solutions for cancer.

Oncode Institute, one of the strategic alliances Lygature supports, wants to narrow the gap between these two worlds. Oncode wants to encourage both researchers and patients to better understand each other's world. That is why they facilitate Oncode’s Patient Engagement Program.
In this video, Inge Reus and Niels Heine, two participants of the Patient Engagement Programme, together with Oncode Investigator Peter ten Dijke of the Leiden University Medical Center, explain the value of the collaboration between (former) patients and researchers. What it's like to fight cancer from different worlds?
