Societal Challenges and Economic Opportunities

The Dutch Top sector Life Sciences & Health is working on innovative products and services for prevention and care. Vital citizens in a healthy economy requires a healthcare system that predicts risks, helps citizens with prevention and is able to treat or cure those who fall ill. In 2016 € 730 million was invested in medical research and innovation in the Netherlands. The instrument of choice for a successful collaboration between researchers, citizens, government and entrepreneurs is a Public-Private Partnership (PPP).

This summer Health~Holland published the Knowledge and Innovation Agenda 2018-2022. In this document the Top sector outlines its strategic priorities and the way these will be implemented in PPP’s. A clear set of KPI’s is presented to track the progress against the ambitions of Health~Holland.
