Welcome to the Innovative Health Initiative!
Today, the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) is launched. A great new endeavour with the goal to translate health research and innovation into real benefits for patients and societies. This public-private partnership will be jointly funded by the European Union and industry partners covering the full spectrum in medtech and pharma. IHI is designed to build on what worked well and the lessons learned in the past 14 years in the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI).
Over the past years we have been privileged to support a wide spectrum of IMI projects in which partners from all over Europe in industry, academia and society joined forces. As Lygature we look forward to contributing to the success of the Innovative Health Initiative.
IHI states that future breakthroughs in medical science will involve cross-sectoral discoveries, such as medical device / drug combinations or diagnostics based on artificial intelligence. The Executive Director, Pierre Meulien, emphasises that public-private partnerships are needed for progress as all actors are necessary to be involved. We can only echo this, and at Lygature we will continue to make connections between disciplines, initiatives, and partners to pioneering medicine together!
