Public private partnership to bring dementia diagnostics closer to the public through a customisable cognitive and biomarker screening platform.
PREDICTOM aims to establish scalable, cost-efficient diagnostic markers, tools and procedures that can identify people at increased risk, at point of care for stratification into personalized interventions to prevent or delay dementia. PREDICTOM is developing an AI-screening-platform that can identify individuals at risk of developing dementia, even before symptoms manifest.

About PREDICTOM
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and related disorders leading to dementia are associated with staggering costs and suffering. In 2023, more than 7 million people are living with dementia in the European Union. This number is projected to double, reaching 14 million in 2050. This will create a huge burden on healthcare systems.
Recently, there has been some progress in the search for effective therapeutic interventions and it is clear that any treatment is likely to be most effective if administered at the earliest stage of disease. Therefore there is an urgent need to establish scalable, cost-efficient diagnostic markers, tools and procedures that can identify people at increased risk to prevent or delay dementia.
PREDICTOM will develop an open-source, interoperable and customisable biomarker screening platform. This platform will bring diagnostics closer to the patient by examining the feasibility of using samples which can be obtained at home or GP offices (e.g. finger-prick blood, saliva, stool, digital markers) for diagnostic biomarker analysis. The platform will use artificial intelligence models to analyse data from all biomarkers to identify users at high risk of developing dementia to prevent further cognitive decline and development of dementia. PREDICTOM seeks to facilitate a change in current healthcare practice for early diagnosis of AD through development of new clinical practice guidelines. By improving the ease of identification of those with early signs of dementia the project expects to have a significant impact on personal and financial burden of dementia in Europe and across the world.
Lygature in PREDICTOM
In PREDICTOM Lygature is leading the program management work package together with co-lead GE HealthCare GmbH. Responsibilities include ensuring the proper overall management of the project to support the participants in achieving objectives and completing milestones and deliverables according to the defined timeframes. This includes stimulating transparency, driving collaboration between partners, the compilation of periodic technical reports, and monitoring the effective execution of the work plan and its progress. In addition, Lygature provides to the consortium its specifically developed IT platform, which includes a publication approval system to safeguard scientific confidentiality and enable smooth dissemination of consortium results.
