Vacancy: A Creative All-round DTP

This position has been filled.

Do you love to work on different designs and translate concept-designs into usable prints and files? Do you want to apply your talents as a DTP-er to accelerate the development of novel medical treatments for unmet medical needs? Then you are in the right place! Lygature is currently looking for a medior Desktop Publisher (DTP) to bring our communication materials to the next level.

About Lygature

Lygature is a not-for-profit organization that drives medical innovations to address unmet medical needs worldwide. Current challenges in health care require collaboration across disciplines and stakeholder groups, such as industry, academia, health foundations and patients. Lygature provides partnership management for public-private partnerships that develop innovations in the medical space. As an independent third party Lygature is a proud contributor to the success of many different multilateral collaborations, including the European Lead Factory, Health-RI, Oncode Institute, the Regulatory Science Network Netherlands, Pediatric Praziquantel Consortium and UNITE4TB.

About this role

Due to the growth of our organization, we are increasing our design capacity. As a DTP-er, you are an essential part of the Communications team. The team is primarily responsible for project communications, but we also take care of the corporate communications. You play an important role within all projects where Lygature provides communication support as part of our partnership management package. Together with the Art Director, Project Communications Manager and Program Manager you are responsible for the visual communication tools in several projects. After a visual identity for a (new) project is created you will translate this into visual communication tools such as a PowerPoint presentation, newsletters, Word-templates and brochures. But it could also be an infographic or social media cards, print-ready materials, conference booths, etc. Key here is that you understand the creative briefing for a project in a brainstorm with the Art Director and Project Communications Manager on how best to translate a briefing into the right tools. You deliver the required visual content on time based on a clear planning.

What we expect from you

A self-starter with a passion for working out designs, able to work closely with the Art-Director but also within a team. To have the ability to take initiative in response to direction and instruction with a strong sense of ownership in supporting your projects and work. You enjoy working on a range of major European and global projects in the field of medical innovations.

Responsibilities

  • You work across multiple projects to deliver high quality, consistent and effective assets (print, digital, social media content, and pitches) as required
  • You know how to collect the necessary input for the creative briefing from the Project Communications Manager and/or Art Director
  • You can work well with sharp deadlines, budget constraints and requirements for deliverables
  • Translate briefs into a creative design solution consistent with existing visual identity
  • You maintain visual identities (logo, stationary, templates for Microsoft applications, newsletter templates) for all projects
  • Maintain the look and UX-design of the websites of Lygature and its projects
  • You are great at improving the persuasive power of PowerPoint slide decks
  • Keep up a good overview with clear planning of all tasks together with the Art Director

Skills and experience

  • Educational level: Bachelor (Graphic Design related degree)
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in a similar role
  • You have a relevant portfolio that showcases your talents
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Drupal alike websites is an advantage
  • Fluent in English and a working knowledge of Dutch
  • Comfortable working with both print and digital, ideally including animation and video skills
