About this role
A key ingredient of successful PPP’s is an independent third party that builds trust, provides governance, transcends barriers and takes into account the interests of all stakeholders. This is exactly where Lygature comes in.
As part of the Business Development & Legal team, our Legal Officer will have the challenging responsibility to support the contract flow and legal frameworks for successful partnerships. Together with professionals in communication, finance and program management as well as the legal medical law and privacy team, you will lay the legal basis for the success of these initiatives in which Lygature is the partnership management partner.
What we expect from you
In this position, you will closely collaborate with colleagues within the Business Development & Legal team, Program Managers, legal medical law and privacy team and Office Management. You will report to one of the Directors Business Development and cooperate with other Legal Officers.
Responsibilities
- Review, interpret and draft legal documents such as collaboration agreements for public private partnerships, confidentiality agreement, service agreement and business-to-business arrangements between Lygature and its customers
- Safeguarding the business and legal interests of all collaboration partners
- Provide legal advice to Program Managers, Communication Managers and Controllers (finance) on possible solutions, e.g., in relation to the contract clauses on e.g. governance, IP, etc
- Legal document management
Skills and experience
- Master’s degree in Law (LL.M.), preferably with at least two-year professional experience.
Relevant work experience within a University Medical Centre, Pharma, MedTech or Biotech company is a strong asset - Demonstratable experience with (Dutch) contract law and/or negotiation skills in a multicultural and cross-functional environment would be an asset
- Clear affinity and/or demonstrated interest with Life Sciences and Health sector
- Ability to take a helicopter view, acknowledge and safeguard the interests of the parties involved
- Fluency in Dutch and English language is required (spoken and written)
- A strong work ethic, including the ability to work independently and as part of a (multicultural) team
- Organised and able to meet deadlines
- Proactive and with can-do mentality
- Curious, eager to learn and creative thinker
